Rawinad Nets Heart Offensive POW Honor

Oskaloosa–Gonzalo Rawinad (Fr., Gijon, Spain, Psychology) beat the opposing goalkeepers on three occasions, and for his efforts he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Monday.

Rawinad earned his first career weekly laurel after helping William Penn to two ties last week.

In last Monday’s 3-3 tie with No. 6 Cumberland, the freshman tallied a brace of two goals, in addition to also assisting on the other Statesmen goal.

Last Saturday, Rawinad recorded the game-tying goal as WPU tied 1-1 with Benedictine.

For the year, Rawinad has scored a team-best five goals with one assist.

The award is the second for WPU this year.
