Milder’s Shutout Leads to League Honor

Oskaloosa–Sil Milder (Arnhem, Netherlands) was strong between the pipes, and for his efforts he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week Monday.

Milder garnered his first weekly accolade after leading the Statesmen to a 2-0 win over Concordia (Neb.) last Saturday.

The freshman recorded three saves in the shutout. He guided a defensive unit that permitted just 13 shots and one corner kick by CUNE. Following the win, William Penn’s scoreless streak extended to over 263 minutes.

Entering this week’s play, Milder owned a 2-0-1 record with a 0.33 Goals Against Average. He had tallied eight saves and permitted only one goal.

The award is the first of the year for WPU.
