WPU Enters Postseason Eighth in Nation
Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s lacrosse team dipped two positions with the playoffs beginning as the NAIA released its fifth and final top-10 poll Wednesday.
WPU (11-3, 7-2 Heart) heads into the postseason at No. 8 with 26 points. It marks the 18th-consecutive poll in which the navy and gold have been ranked.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference has four representatives in the poll with Benedictine and St. Ambrose tied at No. 9. Columbia is also in the receiving votes section at No. 13.
Madonna (Mich.) is again No. 1 in the NAIA, claiming 60 points and all six first-place votes. Keiser (Fla.), Aquinas (Mich.), and SCAD Savannah (Ga.) are second, third, and fourth, respectively, while Indiana Tech and Reinhardt (Ga.) are tied for fifth.
After defeating Columbia in the Heart Championship Semifinals Thursday, the Statesmen remain in Atchison, Kan. Saturday to face Benedictine in the Finals at 2 p.m.
