GALVEZ MAKES HISTORY, WARRIORS SHINE IN ARKANSAS

April 13, 2026

Fayetteville, AR – The No. 6 nationally ranked Indian Hills Men’s Track & Field squad soared to new heights at the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Saturday with a number of all-time performances at historic John McDonnell Field.

In one of the most remarkable individual performances in junior college history, sophomore Raynier Galvez (Paterson, NJ/Passaic County) took home top honors in the men’s 800-meter invitational. Galvez, an eight-time All-American and two-time national champion as a freshman, posted a time of 1:46.92, the second-fastest time in National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) history.

Galvez’s time was just .04 seconds off of the top mark set back in 2022, and just .02 seconds ahead of former Warrior legend Tyrice Taylor (2023). As a program, the Warriors now boast three of the top-five all-time marks in the 800m, and 13 of the top-25 times in NJCAA history.
