Statesmen Compete in Doane Open

Crete, Neb.– The William Penn men’s wrestling team sent a small group to compete Saturday as it had two come away with victories at the Doane Conner/Oppenheim Open.

The event featured two divisions–Open and Amateur.

141-pounder Jacob Perry (So., Salisbury, N.C., Industrial Technology) left the tournament with a team most three wins all coming via pinfall in the Amateur division, one of the falls occurred in just 0:26.

Travis Coleman (Fr., Murrieta, Calif., Education) had his hand raised once, as he picked up a close 7-6 decision in the 165-pound Amateur weight-class.

Up Next: William Penn travels to Davenport, Iowa to compete in the Heart Duals on December 13 at 10 a.m.
