Scorpil, Hayhurst Ranked Nationally

Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s wrestling team again has two nationally-ranked individuals as the NAIA released its second set of polls this week.

133-pounder Lane Scorpil (Sr., Columbus Junction, Iowa, Business Management) picked up a spot to be eighth in the country, while Ashton Hayhurst (Jr., Evansville, Ind., Sociology) is again ranked (now 22nd) at 157 pounds.

As a team, William Penn is tied for 33rd with 24 points.

Grand View leads the nation with 240 points, while Life (Ga.) (221), Southeastern (Fla.) (208), Indiana Tech (196), and Oklahoma City (187) round out the top five.

The navy and gold are eighth in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with 53 points, while Grand View tops the standings with 222 points.

Scorpil is now third in the league, while Hayhurst is fourth. 149-pounder Brody Brisker (Fr., Wilton, Iowa, Sports Management) and 184-pounder LaDainian Gordon (Jr., Centennial, Colo., Nursing) are both fifth in the Heart.
