Oskaloosa Boys Track Tallies Podiums and 14 PRs at Sigourney Co-Ed Meet

Sigourney, Iowa — Despite battling through injuries, the Oskaloosa boys track and field team delivered a gritty performance Tuesday night at the Sigourney Co-Ed Invitational, coming away with multiple top-three finishes and a surge of personal records across the lineup.

The 4×800-meter relay team of Reid Luck, Dre Bullock, Sam Nelson, and Blake Herny led the way with a 2nd-place finish, clocking a new season-best time of 8:41.7. The performance marked one of the top relays of the night in a meet that featured 14 teams from across the region.

Individually, Dre Bullock sprinted to a 3rd-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 55.99. Reid Luck followed with a strong 4th-place showing in the 800 meters, posting a season-best time of 2:08.2.

The distance medley team of Stuart Fleener, Kolby Williams, Sam Nelson, and Blake Herny added a 6th-place finish with a time of 4:04.7.

But perhaps the most encouraging sign for the Indians was the wave of personal records across the roster. Fourteen athletes set new PRs, showcasing depth and steady progression heading into the conference meet. Athletes earning personal bests included Henry and Heston Bru, Dre and Tre Bullock, Stuart Fleener, Blake Herny, Silas Johnston, Carter and Parker Jordan, Reid Luck, Sam Nelson, and Kolby Williams.

With a few days of recovery ahead, the team will turn its focus to the Little Hawkeye Conference Championships, set for Thursday, May 8 at Dallas Center-Grimes High School.
