Oskaloosa Girls Track and Field Competes Strongly at Bondurant-Farrar Meet

Bondurant, Iowa – April 21, 2025

The Oskaloosa High School girls track and field team turned in a competitive showing Monday evening at the Bondurant-Farrar Invitational, finishing with 30 team points on a day that featured sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s.

Leading the way was Tierney Carter, who captured the individual championship in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.34 seconds, finishing with a strong late-race surge. Carter also helped power the Sprint Medley Relay team — alongside Vivian Bolibaugh, Miley McCain, and Delaey Harbour — to a third-place finish with a season-best time of 1:52.24. That mark now ranks eighth all-time in Oskaloosa girls track and field history.

The field events saw notable improvements as well. Allie Campbell set a new personal record in the shot put with a throw of 94 feet, 10 inches, while Kara Harman also achieved a new personal best in the shot put with a mark of 25 feet, 7.5 inches.

On the track, Kate McBurney shaved seven seconds off her 1500-meter time, setting a personal record with a finish of 5:44.06. The 4×200-meter relay team of McBurney, Monica Hundley, Bolibaugh, and McCain also had a strong outing, recording a time of 1:58.00, with a hand-timed adjustment pending review.

Overall, Oskaloosa placed ninth in the team standings in a meet that included top competition from programs like Pella, ADM, and North Polk.

The Indians will return to action on Thursday in Newton. Additionally, Tierney Carter is set to compete Friday at the prestigious Drake Relays, representing Oskaloosa in the open 400-meter dash.
