Second NAIA Award for Putzier in 2025

Oskaloosa–Breck Putzier (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn., Exercise Science) used his single-game assists record to win the NAIA Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week award Tuesday.

Now a five-time national award honoree (second this season), Putzier guided the Statesmen (6-3, 3-0 Heart) to a pair of league wins last week.

In last Tuesday’s 26-0 win over Midland, the senior tallied 15 total points, including dishing out 11 assists along with four goals. His 11 assists are a new program record, breaking his own mark of nine against Benedictine from 2023.

Putzier also grabbed three ground balls and went 2-for-3 in faceoffs in the victory.

Last Saturday against William Woods, Putzier managed four more goals with one assist in an 18-7 win. He produced seven ground balls as well.

After Tuesday’s win over Missouri Valley, Putzier now leads WPU in goals (37), assists (42), and points (79). He also has notched 31 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. The senior has managed to post at least one goal and one assist in all nine games this season.

Putzier leads the NAIA in assists and points, while also ranking in the top 10 in goals.

The award is the second for WPU this year.
