Oskaloosa, Iowa | Age 66
Georgette Alexander, 66, of Oskaloosa, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Georgette “Stout” was born December 6, 1957. The daughter of Raymond Stout and Mary Jane Kerr (Fox) and Everett Keer (Stepfather).
Georgette grew up with four brothers and a sister, like all sister relationships, they had their disagreements, but they loved and cared for each other immensely.
When Georgette was 5 years old, she found God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. She would walk by herself to church, Sunday School Classes and attended vacation Bible School, and attended Oskaloosa School System.
Georgette graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1976. She loved playing softball from 5th grade to 10th grade. She entered her working career in the corn and bean fields for 6 summers before furthering her education. Georgette attended Central, William Penn, and Buenavista college and graduated in 1986.
She became a Social Worker and worked at Mahaska Diamond Shelter with disabled adults. She volunteered as a teacher aid at Mahaska County Head start program. She then transitioned to working at Tanger place in Ottumwa providing families individual therapy, skill development, and keeping children safe. She became employed with the Department of Human Services for many years, taking great pride in helping families and all the children she worked with.
She enjoyed (most of the time) watching her nieces and nephews on the weekends. She has and always wished the best for them and would often pray for them and their families.
Georgette welcomed a son, Timothy, during her first marriage. He was born June 18, 1982. Timothy was Georgette’s greatest gift from God. She lived her life protecting him, providing him with unconditional love and helping him through all his major illnesses.
On June 17, 1990, Georgette married Lee Alexander. Lee adopted Timothy thereafter and formed a loving, father-son relationship. The family enjoyed the many adventures, fun filled vacations throughout the United States. All the Stout and Alexander family gatherings were important to Georgette. The 33 years and 10 months that Georgette spent with her husband, Lee, will always be her best memories. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit became her foundation. Georgette is deeply sorry to anyone whom she has hurt.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Lee Alexander of New Sharon; 2 brothers Mike (& Mary) Stout and Larry (& Gloria) Stout of Oskaloosa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
