Stuart M. Anderson, 69, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. He was born February 7, 1955, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Roland and Eleanor Bunting Anderson.

Stuart graduated from Oskaloosa Senior High with the class of 1973. Stuart was a lifelong learner, he earned his A.S. in Computer Electronics from Indian Hills Community College in 1986. A B.A. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from William Penn University in 1991. In 2006 he received his Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine from Palmer College of Chiropractic.

On May 2, 1998, Stuart was united in marriage to Carla Sarver at the Bethel Baptist Church in Oskaloosa.

Early on Stuart worked as a brick and stone mason, later he went to work at Ajinomoto in Eddyville, and then Sears in Oskaloosa. Last he worked at Sherwin Williams in Oskaloosa delivering paint. He retired from there in late 2023 due to ill health. Stuart worked many years to establish his chiropractic practice in Oskaloosa, though he was never open to the public he was always willing to treat family and friends.

He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Oskaloosa. He enjoyed snow skiing, biking, hiking, classic cars, going to the drag races, photography, walking, and riding motorcycles. Stuart and Carla are both supporters of World Vision.

His family includes his wife of over 25 years, Carla Anderson of Oskaloosa; a daughter, Alexandra Smith of Greeley, Colorado; a sister, Cheryl (& Geoff) Smith of Windsor, Colorado; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Sarver of Oskaloosa; brother-in-law, Doug Sarver of Oskaloosa; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Ronnie Hemsworth officiating.
As was Stuart’s wish his body has been cremated. The family will be at the Bethel Baptist Church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
