Oskaloosa, IA – Johnathan Terpstra, a standout golfer from Oskaloosa, has secured his place in the Boy’s State Golf Tournament for the fourth consecutive year. Under the guidance of Oskaloosa boys head coach Brett Doud, Johnathan has consistently demonstrated his exceptional skills and determination on the golf course.

Johnathan’s journey to the state tournament began with a strong performance at the sectionals, where he qualified for the district meet as one of the top two golfers from a non-qualifying team. His next challenge was the district meet held at Stone Creek Golf Club in Williamsburg, IA.

Starting the day with a bogey on the first hole, Johnathan quickly recovered with a birdie on the second. From that point forward, he showcased his experience and composure, navigating the course with the precision of a seasoned veteran. Johnathan finished the day with an impressive score of one over par 72, tying for third overall and tying for first among non-qualifying team competitors.

Johnathan’s performance at Stone Creek Golf Club has earned him a spot in the prestigious Boy’s State Golf Tournament, which will be held at Veenker Memorial Golf Course on Monday, May 20 – Tuesday, May 21. This achievement marks his fourth consecutive appearance at the state level, a testament to his dedication and talent.

As Johnathan prepares for his final state golf tournament, the Oskaloosa community extends their best wishes and support. “We are incredibly proud of Johnathan and his accomplishments,” said Coach Doud. “His hard work and perseverance have paid off, and we look forward to seeing him compete at the state level once again.”
