Palumbo Earns Heart Wrestler of the Week Honor

Oskaloosa–Mia Palumbo (Jr., Oak Lawn, Ill., Exercise Science) remained undefeated on the season last weekend and for her efforts she was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Wrestler of the Week Monday.

Palumbo won her first weekly laurel after winning her weight class at the Missouri Valley Open last Saturday.

The junior, who is ranked #1 in the NAIA at 109 pounds, won all four of her matches to claim her second crown of the season. She took two victories by technical fall with a combined score of 23-1, while also pinning one foe. In the championship match, Palumbo defeated NCAA Division I foe Ava Bayless of Iowa 2-1.

The weekly honor is the second of the year for WPU.
