An accident at 11:54 pm the night of January 20 resulted in 2 being sent to the Monroe County Hospital.

20 year old Cherese Lovell of Centerville was driving North, on Highway 5 near 240th St. in Monroe County, in her 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass. Lovell crossed the center line of Highway 5 when it was 100% snow covered with the center line being not visible. Lovell, now driving North in the South lane, struck the 1997 vehicle driven by 19 year old Lucas Repp also of Centerville.

Once the vehicles collided head on, Lovell’s vehicle spun around and came to rest facing West in the North travel portion of the highway. Repp’s vehicle spun, coming to rest facing East, and remaining in the South travel portion of the highway.

Lovell was charged with failing to yield half of roadway when meeting a vehicle.
