NM Runners Sixth at C-M

COLFAX – North Mahaska took to the grounds of the Colfax Golf Course Thursday and earned sixth place finishes. Brayden Veiseth paced the boys with a runnerup finish and Emmerson Jedlicka led the girls taking fifth. All three junior high girls placed in the top 10.

Grandview Christian took both team titles scoring 73 and 55 respectively. Matt Richardson won the boys’ race in 17 minutes 35.65 seconds, but Veiseth was close behind finishing in 17:46.72. Ben Yang placed just out of the top 10 in 11th in 19:05.61. Maddox Wynja was 31st in 20:16.41, Kincaid Mitchell 34th in 20:32.06 and Clay Thompson was 39th in 21:05.51.

Finishing ahead of the Warhawk runners were Lynnville-Sully 84, Baxter 95, Collins-Maxwell 102 and Clarke 112.

Woodward-Granger’s Eva Flescher won the girls’ meet in 20:42.75. Jedlicka finished fifth in 21:51.43.Breckyn Schilling was 32nd in 26:24.22 and Alivia Schock was 36th in 26:58.72. Ava Huffman rounded out the scoring with a 42nd place finish in 29:21.68.

Fooling Grandview Christian in the team scoring was Collins-Maxwell 60, Woodward-Granger 77, Lynnville-Sully 94 and Montezuma 121. NM scored 135.

No junior high boys ran, and no times were listed on the results sheet as of Sunday. Jade DeBoef placed second with Trinity McKee in seventh and Addelyn Jedlicka in 10th.
