Lonning leaves women’s basketball post

PELLA—Moran Lonning has resigned as Central College women’s basketball coach after one season to pursue another opportunity.

She led the Dutch to an 8-17 record in her only season.

“We wish Coach Lonning well and thank her for her efforts,” athletics director Eric Van Kley said. “We feel really good about the student-athletes in our program and excited about those who are coming in this fall. They’re outstanding young women. We’re deeply committed to them and determined to find the best leader to propel this program to the top. Our search for that leader has already begun.”
