Pella Dutch Captures Lead Early to Defeat Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity)

Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity) watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 12-0 loss to Pella Dutch on Thursday. Pella Dutch scored on a double by Isaiah Kettler and an error in the first inning.
The Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity) struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Pella Dutch, giving up 12 runs.
Pella Dutch got things moving in the first inning. Kettler doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
One bright spot for Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity) was a single by Aiden North in the first inning.
Nathan Vandelune was on the pitcher’s mound for Pella Dutch. The pitcher allowed six hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out six.
Jaden DeRonde toed the rubber for Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity). DeRonde allowed four hits and five runs over three and a third innings, striking out two and walking one. Jarrod Parks and Austen Coenen entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.
Kam Criss led Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity) with two hits in three at bats.
Pella Dutch tallied six hits on the day. Kettler and Kellan Shull all had multiple hits for Pella Dutch.
