NM Boys Shut out BP

BELLE PLAINE – North Mahaska broke a scoreless game with a run in the top of the fifth and two in the sixth and held on for a 3-0 victory over Belle Plaine.

Nash Smith held the Plainsmen (2-7) to three hits through six innings with two strikeouts and five walks. Drake Hall tossed the final inning with one strikeout.

North Mahaska (9-4) pounded out six hits. Ben Johannes had the only extra base hit with a double. He also hit a single. Nate Sampson hit two singles. Jaydyn Stout and Hall also hit singles.

North Mahaska went 4-for-4 stealing bases, which resulted in two of the three runs.
