Statesmen Bowlers Both Ranked in Top 10 in NAIA

Oskaloosa–The William Penn bowling teams are both competing at high levels and are in position to once again battle for national supremacy as the regular season winds down.

The WPU men are seventh in the NAIA and 27th in the USBC rankings, while the women are ninth in the NAIA and 16th in the USBC.

Paced by Rok Kostric (Sr., Koper, Slovenia, Sports Management) with a 203.5 average, the men own an RPI of .618, while Indiana Tech is first in the NAIA at .676. Wichita State (Kan.) leads the USBC ranks.

In eight events, the men have been in the top 10 on five occasions, topping their campaign with a title at the ISYL Leatherneck Classic.

With an average of 191.4, Gabi Evans (Jr., Liberty City, Iowa, Psychology and Sociology) is the William Penn’s top female roller. WPU owns a .625 RPI in the NAIA, while St. Francis (Ill.) is #1 at .680. Wichita State (Kan.) is also the best women’s team in the USBC.

Of their eight tournaments, the women have seven top-10 finishes, headlined by runner-up finishes at both the ISYL Leatherneck Classic and the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational.

William Penn resumes its season on February 12-13 by traveling to Lawrence, Kan. for the Baker Wildcat Challenge.
