WPU in Top 10 for First Time in School History

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s lacrosse team is right in the thick of it to open its third season as the NAIA released its preseason top-10 poll Wednesday.

William Penn is at a program-best #10 with 22 points to begin the campaign, bettering its previous high of #11 to close out last season.

The navy and gold are one of four squads from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference in the rating, headlined by Columbia at #5. St. Ambrose is #7 and Benedictine is right in front of WPU at #9.

Four-time defending national invitational champion Reinhardt (Ga.) is #1 with 50 points and four first-place votes. Indiana Tech is a close second with 47 points and the final first-place ballot. Keiser (Fla.) is third, while Cumberlands (Ky.) is fourth.

William Penn opens its season on February 12, hosting Cornell in a neutral-site non-conference game in West Des Moines at 1 p.m.
