William Penn Grapples at Missouri Valley Open
Marshall, Mo.–The Statesmen women’s wrestling team competed in one of the biggest tournaments in the nation as it hit the mat at the Missouri Valley Open Friday and Saturday.
WPU placed 26th out of 38 teams with 14.5 points. NCAA Division II King (Tenn.) won the tournament crown with 244 points.
116-pounder Catherine Steinkamp (Fr., Quincy, Ill., Biology) and 235-pounder Phoebe Burt (Fr., Coralville, Iowa) each won by fall at the Open.
Next Up: William Penn travels to Hastings, Neb. next Tuesday to face Hastings in dual-meet action at 5 p.m.
