Statesmen Compete One Final Time as Singles at Sectional Event

Addison, Ill.–Several members of the women’s bowling team battled for a shot to make nationals as they competed at the USBC Singles Sectionals Friday.

A total of 135 bowlers were on the lanes with just six advancing to the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships in May. Brooke Allen of Clarke topped the list with 1,325 pins in six games.

Alexis Lake (So., Kaysville, Utah, Nursing) was William Penn’s top representative, finishing 36th with 1,098 pins (high of 218). Bailey Palmer (Sr., Ottumwa, Iowa, Biology) was next with 1,091 pins, while Shaydn Bishop (Fr., Grandview, Iowa, Exercise Science) was also right in the rearview at 1,087 pins. Evie Roen (Jr., Troy, Mich., Applied Mathematics) was solid as well with 1,070 pins.

Miranda Pelant (Jr., Waterville, Minn., General Accounting) guided the remaining Statesmen with 1,027 pins.

The Statesmen will compete Saturday and Sunday as a team at sectionals.
