Walter Grimm, 72, of Delta, died Friday, August 7, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Ottumwa. Walter Leland Grimm was born October 31, 1947 in Delta, Iowa, the son of Walter Richard Grimm and Delores Viola Tolles.
Walter was a 1965 graduate of Sigourney High School.
Then in 1967 Walter joined the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1970.
After returning home Wally attended Muscatine Community College. He worked several years as a trucker driver, served as a substitute mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office and eventually retiring after working for Color Master Inc.
Walter was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers fan. He also enjoyed listening to Creedence Clearwater Revival and the Beatles.
He is survived by a brother, Allen Grimm of Ottumwa; a sister, Kristie (& Tony Davis) Lynch of New Sharon; a special friend, Robert Aszman of Ottumwa; an aunt, Babe Hauschilt of What Cheer; an uncle, Leland Tolles of What Cheer; a nephew, Joe (& Rachel Hamm) Lynch of Fremont; his great niece and nephew, Brody and Emily; and his loyal, Ruger.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Millersburg Community Cemetery.
No visitation is planned.
