Evans, Kostric Sweep Weekly Awards

Oskaloosa–Gabi Evans (Fr., West Liberty, Iowa, Business Management) and Rok Kostric (Jr., Koper, Slovenia, Sports Management) were both exceptional over the weekend as they collected Heart of America Athletic Conference Bowler of the Week accolades Monday.

Both Evans (women’s winner) and Kostric (men’s winner) garnered their first weekly honors as they managed top-10 showings at the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic. They helped their respective squads to top-10 finishes as well.

Evans averaged 204.8 pins in five games to finish seventh out of 364 competitors, while Kostric owned a 223.6 average in five games to end up 10th out of 490 rollers. Evans posted two games over 200 and Kostric had four.

For the year, Evans is averaging 188.2 pins over 33 games with a high game of 234. She has been in the top 10 once and the top 25 one time as well.

Kostric has a 205.2 pin average in 35 games with a high of 270. His effort at the Kegel tournament was his first in the top 25 this season.

The awards are the fourth and fifth of the year for the Statesmen bowling teams.
