Max Gragg, 75 of What Cheer, passed away Monday evening, December 23, 2019 at his home. Max Leondus Gragg, the son of Edward and Darlene (McDonald) Gragg, was born on February 21, 1944 in Albia, Iowa.

Max married Joyce Danner on September 1, 1962. He was the father of four children: Max, Dana, Larry and Marsha.

Max worked as a roofing foreman for TRS Roofing, Townsend Roofing and then he retired from Martin Marietta in Sully, Iowa.

Max looked forward to going to Neil’s house fishing each year with family and friends. He loved fishing and camping.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Peggy Walker; and two brothers, Marvin Gragg and Michael Gragg.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Joyce; his children: Max Gragg Jr. of What Cheer, Dana (& Chris) May of Solon, Larry (& Krysti) Gragg of Delta and Marsha (& Kevin) Phillips of What Cheer; his eight grandchildren: Heather (& Bart) Little, Eric (& Jeri) Gragg, Lindsay (& Ben) Seibert, Alex Gragg, Kyndra Gragg, Jamie (& Austin) Tuttle, Harry (& Courtney) Agnew and Archie (& Suzanne) Agnew; 11 great grandchildren: Miranda, Mariah, Marissa, Macie, Jerrika, Brianna, Seth, Gage, Cole, Dax and Kolt; a sister, Pamela (& Norman) Willey of Rock Springs, Wyoming; and a brother, Mick (& Donna) Gragg of What Cheer; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Chapel in What Cheer.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be held in the Garrett Cemetery near Delta.
Memorial contributions may be made in the family’s name to be determined at a later time.
