The Board approved a loan agreement and issuance of Fire Station Bonds in the amount of $355,000.00 for the construction of a fire station for Cedar Township.

The Board approved the hire of Stephen Shannon as a jailer for the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, effective July 5, 2019.

The Board approved two 28E agreements for police protection during the next year. One of those agreements was with Barnes City and a second for Leighton.

Barnes City and Leighton each contracted for one hour of police protection for the year at the rate of $42.00 per hour.

The Board of Supervisors approved a project agreement with Land Recyclers, Inc. for the NEPA Compliance Services for the new radio towers to be built.

One hangup may be the search for a new tower, as the current one appears to be in the flight path for the new regional airport. Contractors will begin the search for a new location.

Those towers will hold the antennas for the new emergency radio system that will serve first responders around the county.

After a thorough report, the Board then agreed to a renewal of HIPAA services agreement with Carosh Compliance Solutions for the fiscal year 2020.
