Indians Set Multiple Personal Records At LHC Meet

by Coach Betsy Luck

The Little Hawkeye Conference track and field meet were hosted by Newton on Wednesday, May 1 due to unfavorable weather conditions on Tuesday night.
The team finished sixth overall in the meet. It is an understatement that the LHC is a tough conference in track and field.

Emma Kelderman was the conference champion in the 400 hurdles setting a new personal record of 65.31. Faith DeRonde finished second and Sophia Dykstra came in third in the discus. Emma Kelderman also finished third in the high jump.

The team had eight personal records set and two season-best relays. Season-best relays included the 4×400 (Adam, Coon, Czerwinski and Kelderman) who took 6 seconds off their previous best. And the 4×800 (Carter, Lumsden, Coon, and Adam) who took 14 seconds off their previous mark for the season.

Individual personal records were set by the following:
Emma Kelderman in the 400 hurdles and 4×4 split
Jordan Czerwinski in her 4×4 split
Lauren Coon in her 400 leg of the Sprint Medley Relay
Avery Rockhold in her 400 leg of the JV Sprint Medley Relay
Allyson Maxwell in the 200
Olivia Stodghill in the 800
Brandi Grace in the 100

The girls are back in action Thursday night at a triangular at Norwalk.
