Local Guard Enjoys Being Part Of The Community

Members of Det 2 3654th Maintenance Company stand by their HEMTT A4 M984A4 Recovery Truck on Saturday as a way of reaching out to the Oskaloosa community.

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The blue sky over Oskaloosa had the Stars and Stripes hoisted into it by a crane belonging to the Iowa Army National Guard unit stationed in Oskaloosa.

The crane is attached to a HEMTT A4 M984A4 Recovery Truck which is part of the equipment used by Det 2 3654th Maintenance Company.

The maintenance company does everything from auto and diesel mechanics to heating and air conditioning, electronics, among other things.

SSgt. Scott Neff is the recruiter for the Iowa Army National Guard in Oskaloosa. He explained that the display and meet and greet was a way to help bring the unit out into the community. “We’re part of the public and we want to give back to that.”
