Terry Robert Kirby, 76, of Eddyville, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
He was born on December 16, 1941, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Terry was the son of Norval and Clara (Van Veen) Kirby.

Terry graduated from Eddyville High School with the Class of 1960.

In 1959, Terry moved to Eddyville, Iowa. On December 31, 1960, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lola Cody (Smith). To this union, three children were born, Marty, Lorrie, and Mike.

Terry worked in construction and as a brick layer, but mostly as a carpenter. He worked for R & B Construction for many years, and retired in 2003 after working for Ronnie Voss.

He enjoyed his family and friends, and also enjoyed buck skinning, fishing, camping, and working in his shop, where he enjoyed making wooden toys for children,

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years, Lola Kirby of Eddyville; children: Marty Kirby (& special friend Brenda Long), Lorrie (& Bob) Dalton of Eddyville, and Michael Kirby of Oskaloosa; six grandchildren: Owen Kirby, Michaela (& Ace) Barnard, Zachary Kirby, Shyanne (& Austin) Kirby, Mackenzie (& Clayton) Kirby, and Landen Kirby, all of Oskaloosa; four great-grandchildren: Jeremiah, Jace, Easton, and Sebastian; one sister, Karen McBeth of Oskaloosa; and his beloved dog, Annie.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Norval and Clara Kirby; and one sister, Bonnie Emanuel.

A celebration of life will be held at the Eddyville Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 24, 2018, beginning at 4:00 P.M., with family present from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
Memorials may be made to the family.
