A Marion County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

On the morning of March 7, 2018 a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop in the twenty three hundred block of Hwy. 92 for an equipment violation. During the course of the traffic stop the driver was identified as Dustin Edward Flander (age 48) of Oskaloosa.

Deputies soon discovered Mr. Flander had a valid warrant for his arrest out of Mahaska County. After Mr. Flander’s arrest Marion County Deputies impounded his vehicle and discovered numerous narcotic violations and cash. As a result Flander is charged with the following…
1. Possession of methamphetamine (greater than 5 grams) with the intent to deliver
2. Possession of marijuana
3. Unlawful possession of a schedule IV prescription
4. Failure to affix drug tax stamp (X2)
5. Possession of drug paraphernalia
6. Driving while suspended
7. Failure to have insurance

Mr. Flander is currently being held at the Marion County Jail on $37,000 bond. As with any criminal case a charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proved guilty.

A criminal charge is merely a criminal charge and not an indication of guilt. All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
