Oskaloosa–As is quite common, many of WPU’s great teams were blessed with great individual players this past season, and at #7 we would like to acknowledge those terrific athletes.

William Penn was proud to have six individuals receive nine All-America awards during 2012-2013.

Men’s bowler Cameron Foster picked up a WPU-best three honors, including being a First-Team recipient from the NAIA, a Second-Team honoree from the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association, and an Honorable-Mention member from the Bowling Writers Association of America.

Jalen Wilson nipped at the heels of the NAIA’s national champion long jumper in both the indoor and outdoor track seasons. Wilson placed third in the indoor competition and was national outdoor runner-up.

Wrestler Kyle Soderblom finished seventh at 197 pounds to become the 40th All-American in school history, while women’s basketball player Orielle Thomas capped her career with her second Honorable-Mention accolade.

Most notable of all these impressive campaigns, though, was the men’s basketball duo of Brandon Beasley and Keith Steffeck. Both earned First-Team All-America honors, while Beasley was also chosen as the school’s best male athlete, being named the John Eberline Booster Club Player of the Year.
