YMCA’s Hunts, Specials, and Requests

The Mahaska County YMCA

OSKALOOSA, IA – The Mahaska County YMCA is again sponsoring a Virtual Scavenger hunt for all residents of Mahaska County the week of December 11. Visiting the YMCA web site (www.MahaskaYMCA.org) and then filling out the Official Entry Form after finding six select images is all it takes to win a $50 gift card or free swim lessons. The official entry form can be picked up from the Y Member Services Desk or downloaded from the web site.

Jason Kline was the winner of the November scavenger hunt and opted for the membership credit as his prize. Lisa Martin, YMCA Membership Engagement Director, congratulated Kline on his win and is hoping for more community involvement in December’s hunt. “We’d really like to see non-members involved as much as members,” she said, noting she felt the gas gift card is something quite useful any time of year.

Entrants must be at least 19 years of age. Y membership is not a requirement. Completed forms must be turned in by 5 p.m. December 19. More Scavenger Hunt details can be found on the Y’s website.

Martin also wants the community to know there is a membership special taking place in December. The joiner fee will match the calendar date which is a significant reduction from the established fee of $50. There is also a “How Are We Doing?” survey addressing a variety of YMCA topics from classes to cleanliness. “We want to make sure we’re addressing areas of concern and not just meeting but hopefully exceeding expectations,” Martin added. “We don’t know if we’re falling short unless we’re told.”

Paper surveys can be picked up from the Member Services Desk or a link to the online version can be found on the web site. Contact information is not required.

For any questions, contact Martin at 641.673.8411 or via email, lisa.martin@mahaskaymca.org. The YMCA is located at 414 North 3rd Street in Oskaloosa.
