WPU Finishes Fifth at Kegel/ISBPA
Addison, Ill.–The Statesmen men’s bowling team took another strong step forward as it competed at the Kegel/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic Saturday and Sunday.
William Penn placed fifth out of 60 teams with 9,070 pins in five regular games and 20 Bakers. Calumet-St. Joseph (Ind.) won the tournament with 9,284 pins.
Zach Doty of Morehead State (Ky.) led individual play with a 238.6 average. Jacques Kaune (Sr., Anchorage, Alaska, Business Management), at 208.4, and Michael Applegate (Sr., Council Bluffs, Iowa, Secondary Education), at 207.0, both eclipsed the 200 mark as each started all five games.
Stian Hoff (Jr., Orkanger, Norway, General Accounting) (199.2) and Nick Walker (Fr., Zeeland, Mich., Business Management) (178.8) started all five rounds as well. Lucas Perdieu (Jr., DeWitt, Iowa, Public Accounting) (211.0, four games) and Quincy Bruce (So., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, General Accounting) (174 in one game) finished off the Statesmen scoring.
Next Up: William Penn takes more than a month off before traveling to Indianapolis, Ind. on February 20-21 to compete in the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic.
