WPU Blanked in Home Finale

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen women’s lacrosse team came up short against #10 Benedictine, falling 25-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play Wednesday.

William Penn (1-6, 1-2 Heart) was outshot 44-2 by the Ravens (8-3, 3-0 Heart) with Emily Ferguson (Sr., Waterloo, N.Y., Exercise Science) recording both attempts.

BC scored 10 times in the opening period and added five more goals in the second for a 15-0 halftime edge. The visitors managed 10 more tallies after intermission.

Catrina Dinehart (Grad., Palmyra, N.Y., Master’s of Sports Management) headlined the navy and gold with 14 saves, while Ferguson and Ashlyn Hoffman (Sr., Bend, Ore., Nursing) finished with two draw controls each. Kenzington Winget (Sr., West Jordan, Utah., Political Science) notched two ground balls as well.

Next Up: William Penn travels to Davenport Saturday to face St. Ambrose in Heart play at 2 p.m.
