Oskaloosa–The William Penn Athletics Department will be taking its internet streaming efforts to the next level by once again partnering with Stretch Internet starting this fall. Fans will be able to watch the navy and gold at the Game Central 2.0 portal at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/wpu

The University has inked a deal with the streaming content company to provide Statesmen Nation with high quality video and audio broadcasts of live and on-demand (archived) events. In addition to having a customized portal from which fans can follow WPU on their computers, Stretch also supplies mobile access for fans on the go. Live stats and William Penn’s social media platforms can be followed within the portal as well, making the page a one-stop shop.

William Penn had previously worked with Stretch for several years for audio broadcasts only, going through the 2010-2011 school year.

“We are excited to again be working with Stretch Internet,” WPU Athletics Director Greg Hafner said. “This change allows our fanbase to have more access to our games and events on their smartphones and mobile devices. They are one of the best streaming providers on the market and our goal is to give our devoted fans the opportunity to have a positive experience through ever-changing technology.”

An extensive schedule of events (not including postseason tournament games) have been slated for streaming, including six for football, nine for men’s soccer, eight for women’s soccer, eight for volleyball, 14 for men’s basketball, 14 for women’s basketball, two for wrestling, and 10 for softball (doubleheaders); the baseball schedule has not yet been finalized.
