William Penn University Celebrates 2017 Homecoming Week with Campus Dedication, Awards Ceremonies

(OSKALOOSA, Iowa) – William Penn University celebrates 2017 homecoming this week, September 28–30. There are many exciting events occurring throughout the week, including Penn Hall’s 100th anniversary, the dedication of the George Daily Pavilion, and the induction of the 2017 Hall of Fame recipients. Mark your calendars for the following homecoming week celebrations:

Dedication of the George Daily Pavilion — Ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the pavilion on Friday, September 29, at 1:00 p.m. and will officially introduce the dedication of the “P.”

Penn Hall’s 100th Anniversary celebration, William Penn Campus Tour Amazing Race will honor the anniversary. It will take place on William Penn’s Oskaloosa Campus. The race will begin at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, September 29, by the “P” at the George Daily Pavilion.

2017 Alumni Awards Ceremony — The 2017 Alumni Recognition Banquet will take place on Friday, September 29, in the Musco Technology Center. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., with the ceremony starting at 6 p.m. Alumni and University supporters Harry and Mary Phillips Rees, Patricia Hussey Fisher, Mike Gates and Jerry Ellis are this year’s honorees.

Athletic Hall of Fame Awards and Induction Ceremonies — Former alumni BG Campbell (’75), Brian Theobald (’89) and Steven Dawley (’11) will be inducted into William Penn’s Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2017 Athletic Hall of Fame Reception will be held on Saturday, September 30, at 9:30 a.m. at the Penn Activity Center. The Honorees will be officially inducted during halftime of the William Penn University vs. Avila University football game at the Lacey Complex Stadium.
