William Penn Still Fourth as NAIA Announces Third Rating

Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s lacrosse team remains a major player nationally as the NAIA’s third top-10 poll was released Wednesday.

WPU (9-1), which has picked up seven wins in a row, continues to hold at #4 in the country with 80 points.

William Penn is one of three representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the poll. St. Ambrose, at #11 unofficially, and Benedictine, at #14 unofficially, are in the receiving votes section as well.

The NAIA’s top five remains unchanged with Reinhardt (Ga.) still first with 98 points and all eight first-place votes. Keiser (Fla.), which is the only team to defeat WPU this season, is second, while Webber International (Fla.) is third and Cumberlands (Ky.) is fifth.

WPU returns to Oskaloosa Thursday to host Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) in its Heart of America Athletic Conference opener at 4 p.m.
