Wilda Miner, 100, of Oskaloosa, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born on April 14, 1921, the daughter of Irvin and Grace (Taylor) Beach in Tioga, Iowa, at her parent’s home.

Wilda attended Rose Hill High School.

On July 7, 1954, she was united in marriage to Glen Miner. They shared 60 years of marriage together until Glen passed away on July 16, 2014.

Following high school, Wilda moved to California and worked as a Rosie Riveter supporting the war effort by helping manufacture airplanes. She later moved back to Iowa and worked at the Continental Overall Factory in Oskaloosa, until taking a job at McCurdy’s Seed in Fremont. She retired after the seed plant closed its doors.

She was a member of the Rose Hill Community Church. Wilda enjoyed quilting, crafting and tending to her flower and vegetable garden. She was an excellent cook and had a love for shopping and clothes.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and good friends.

Wilda is preceded in death by her husband, Glen Miner; her parents, Irvin and Grace Taylor; three sisters: Velma McKie, Mildred DeSelm, and Juanita Leathers; and four brothers: Dale S. Beach; Richard Beach; Ivan Beach and Billy Beach.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Chad Lierman officiating.
Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Thursday after 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to MHP Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa.
