Oskaloosa–Elise Warne (Sr., Melbourne, Australia, Exercise Science) headlined seven William Penn women’s golfers whose exceptional seasons warranted postseason recognition as the all-Heart of America Athletic Conference teams were announced recently.

Warne was named Heart Player of the Year for the third time in her career. She was joined on the 15-person squad by Brittany Evans (Jr., Fernley, Nev., Business Management), Bailee Frayne (Fr., Garner, Iowa, Elementary Education), Alexis Guimaraes (Jr., San Ramon, Calif., Psychology), Helene Larsen (Sr., Viborg, Denmark, Business Management), Deanna Peiffer (Jr., Washington, Iowa, Public Accounting), and Megan Rhoads (Sr., Schertz, Texas, Psychology).

All-Heart members include the top five finishers at the league championships as well as the 10 individuals with the lowest scoring averages who were not in the top five.

Warne is now a four-time all-Heart honoree, while Evans, Guimaraes, Larsen, and Rhoads are all on the squad for the third time. Frayne and Peiffer are on the team for the first time in their careers.

The crew helped William Penn to yet another conference title, one of seven wins on the season. The Statesmen are now preparing for their sixth-consecutive appearance at the NAIA National Championships.

Warne enters nationals with a 76.8 stroke average in 23 rounds of competition; she has a low of 71 twice. The senior, who is a five-time Heart Golfer of the Week, has 18 rounds in the 70s. She has three tournament wins to her credit and an additional seven top-10 placings.

Evans is currently posting a 77.6 average–also in 23 rounds of play–with a low carding of 72. She has been in the 70s on 16 occasions and has twice been awarded a Heart Golfer of the Week laurel. The junior is a seven-time top-10 finisher, highlighted by two tournament victories.

Frayne sits at 81.5 entering nationals (24 rounds) with six rounds in the 70s (low of 75). The freshman has been in the top 10 in seven events.

Guimaraes’ 82.2 stroke average spans 23 tournaments. The junior has a low round of 75 and has been in the 70s six times. She has placed in the top 10 five times with one win that resulted in a Heart GOW accolade.

Larsen is averaging 80.0 strokes in 10 rounds with a low score of 73. The senior has slipped under 80 five times with a pair of top-10 efforts.

Peiffer has an 82.5 mark in eight rounds of competition with a low of 76. The junior has been in the 70s on three occasions and has placed in the top 10 in three tourneys.
