Vonna Vee Goldsworth, 87, of Pella, passed at the Pella Comfort House on February 14, 2024. Gonna, daughter of Floyd Edwin and Ruth E. (Taylor) Crouse, was born in Page City, Kansas, on September 6, 1936.

She attended school in Page City, where she and her three sisters were part of the 1951 and 1952 State Volleyball Championship teams.

While in high school, she also worked as a waitress at Duckwall’s Restaurant and dated a young wrestler, Loren Goldsworth, from down the road in Colby, Kansas.

On September 6, 1953, she married Loren Goldsworth in Page City.

They briefly lived in Oakley, Kansas, before moving to Oskaloosa in 1969, where Loren took a position with the Case IH Dealership. Vonna worked as a waitress for several years after they married. She had a strong work ethic and enjoyed meeting people.

After she and Loren moved to Oskaloosa, they joined the Newcomers group and made many new friends. She was a member of the Lions and held many offices within the group. Vonna’s early love of sports carried through her life; she played women’s softball and was an avid bowler. She and Loren also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.

Her family includes her children: Debra (Mike) Beal of Oskaloosa and Neal Goldsworth of Council Bluffs, Iowa; six grandchildren: Michael (Krystal) Beal, Veronica (Zachary) Johnson, Daniel Beal, Stephen (Courtney) Goldsworth, Jack Goldsworth, and Asha Goldsworth; two great-grandchildren: Lydia and Liam Johnson; one living sister, Rose Zella Organ of Wichita, Kansas; one sister-in-law Tammy Goldsworth of Colby, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend Kathleen O’Neal of Colby, Kansas.

In addition to her parents, Vonna was preceded in death by two brothers: Harley and Robert E. Crouse, and three sisters: Leona Mae Butcher, Esta Ruth Hargadine, and Donna D. Bradley.

Funeral Services for Vonna will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at Langkamp Funeral Chapel & Crematory.
Visitation will begin on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.; the family will be present from 9:30 a.m. to service time to greet relatives and friends.
Private family burial will be held at Cedar Memorial Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Pella.
