Update from the House for District 80

by Holly Brink

Hello friends,

It has been a great debate week! We made a lot of progress in the right direction and enjoyed many conversations about the topics important to our constituents.

I want to thank everyone who came to the Eggs & Issues forum this past Saturday in Oskaloosa! I had a great time with all of you discussing important issues and answering your questions.

I want to thank everyone who came to the Eggs & Issues forum this past Saturday in Oskaloosa! I had a great time with all of you discussing important issues and answering your questions.

I also want to congratulate the wrestlers from District 80 who earned titles this past weekend! Those include: (Class 2A)

126: No. 1 Matthew Lewis of Centerville

132: No. 1 Kayden Kauzlarich of Centerville

182: No. 1 Sage Walker (Eddyville EBF)

Centerville earned the 3rd place team score in Class 2A, and Eddyville EBF earned 9th place.

Great job, guys!

This Thursday, I had the honor of hosting the Spronk family here at the capitol. Pastor Spronk did the morning prayer for both the House and Senate, and their children Benjamin, Phineas, Leah, and Nicholas led the Pledge of Allegiance in both chambers. They also got to go on a tour of the capitol, which was enjoyed by all. Thanks for coming, Spronks!

Additionally, I chaired another Information Technology Appropriations Subcommittee meeting. We heard from two managers who have implemented the WorkDay financial management system in their respective companies. They shared their insights on WorkDay implementation, potential issues, and overall opinion on the software as an effective system for the State of Iowa.

I also enjoyed visiting with several different constituents during the Iowa Firearms Coalition Lobby Day. They had some great ideas and concerns in relation to 2nd Amendment laws maintaining the rights and freedoms of Iowans. Thanks for coming, guys!

I am continuing to enjoy my leadership and committee roles, it is such a privilege and honor to represent you in the House. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or suggestions. Thanks all!
