Two Girls Compete In State Track & Field Events

by Betsy Luck

With a beautiful sunshine filled day, two Osky female athletes competed at the State Track & Field meet. Emma Kelderman came away with a 9th place tie finish in the high jump with a jump of 5-1. Emma said, “it was the best I’ve felt jumping all year”. I’m super proud of her accomplishments in high jump this year.

Sophia Dykstra finished 21st in the discus with a throw of 100-4. It’s a HUGE stage for a freshman to be on. Soph needs to be proud of the fantastic freshman season that she has finished. She is already setting goals for her next 3 years and we know that she will be a force to be reckoned with in the future at the state meet.

Friday’s events– The Distance Medley Relay of Brooke Allen, Savannah Wiltse, Emma Kelderman and Lauren Coon take to the track at 2:40 looking forward to setting a season best time and moving from their 16th place seed time. And then Emma will be at it again in the 400 hurdles at 5:20 hoping to finish her fantastic season with an explanation point on the Blue Oval.
