Trever Gordon

Trever Gordon
December 12, 2019 – October 30, 2021
rural Albia, Iowa | Age 1 year 10 months

Trever Lane Gordon, of rural Albia, born December 12, 2019 to David Eugene Gordon and Amber Marie Teno, was called to the Lord after one beautiful year and 10 months on October 30, 2021.

A tenacious and fearless tiny tot who touched so many lives in such a brief time. Whether he playfully motivated you to give chase, or patiently, and humbly, asking for your time to play, he seemed to make even the dimmest of rooms bright. Loving water, giggling with his animals, and even helping mommy and daddy to fold laundry or pass the appropriate tool, Trever inspired the truest sense of what it is to love. Fondly kissing brothers’ cheek, getting mud and gravel everywhere, most certainly getting wonderfully dirty, were all ways this sunshine ray would make his presence known. Oh, the camping adventures, the exploration that was made of course so magical in a child’s mind are held in special spaces and places in the hearts of all that saw these events take shape. A thing to note…this fast-thinking child’s mind could discern just who to give an accepting “knuckles” to. You were special indeed to get this approval. Protective, cuddly, incredibly intelligent, I could go on for days. Trever liked things in order, there was an assembly line mentality, a great problem solver at work! You just knew greatness resided inside.

He is survived by his parents, David Gordon and Amber Teno of Eddyville; brothers, Austin Langstraat, and Jace Gordon; paternal grandparents, Donald and Cindy Gordon of Ottumwa; great grandmother, Gladys Verhulst of Ottumwa; step great grandmother, Nancy Steele of Oklahoma City, OK; maternal grandparents, David Teno of Albia, Carolyn Stephens of Hudson, FL; great grandfather, Donald Teno of Albia; aunts, Elizabeth (& Sam) Thomas of Bloomfield, Amber (& Donnie) Henderson of Ottumwa; uncles, Andre’ (& Elizabeth) Vandenberg of Ashville, NC, and Ryan Robertson of Austin, TX; and many great aunts, uncles and cousins also survive Trever.

He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandfathers, Gary Steele and Howard Gordon; paternal great grandmother, Donna Gordon; and step great grandfather, Mike Verhulst; maternal great grandparents, Janice Teno, and William & Christina Main.
