On Saturday, October 7th, Oskaloosa Trees Forever along with a group of community minded volunteers representing the Oskaloosa Rotary Club and the Rotary Interact Club – a group of high school students – helped Oskaloosa Trees Forever plant a total of 56 trees. An assortment of hardwoods and decorative trees were planted on 3rd Avenue East between Market Street and 7th Street as well as in Edmundson Park. Thanks to Mid American Energy and numerous individuals and local businesses whose donations helped to make this project possible. Dr. Craig Coen, chairperson of Oskaloosa Trees Forever, reminds us that trees offer many benefits and that October is an excellent month for tree planting.
