Tracy L. Fye, age 60, of Ollie, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and clinics. He was born on May 9, 1960 in Fairfield at the Jefferson County Hospital, the son of Delbert and Carolyn (Henry) Fye.

Tracy attended the Pekin High School and graduated with the Class of 1978. After graduating, he attended the University of Iowa. During his high school years, Tracy was a talented wrestler and football player and later wrestled intermural at the University of Iowa.

Tracy was a master carpenter and worked for Menefee Professional Contractors in Cedar Rapids and was a member of the United Carpentry Union Local #1260 in Iowa City. He helped design and build several buildings in Iowa City and surrounding areas.

Every spare moment Tracy had, he was on or near the water. He was an avid water skier, competing in competitions all over the Midwest in the 3-event water skiing events and winning multiple awards and competing in the Iowa Games. He was a member of the Water Hawks Ski Club in Waterloo and Dubuque and also a member of the Ollie Motorcycle Club. He also enjoyed playing guitar, hunting deer and pheasant, camping and being outdoors. He was an avid sports and NASCAR fan, especially the Green Bay Packers and Dale Earnhardt. Above all else, family was the center of Tracy’s life.

Tracy is survived by his parents, Delbert and Carolyn Fye of Ollie; his Fiancé, Kelly Gregory of Ollie; a brother, D. A. Fye III of Kingston, TN; two nephews, Drew (& Samantha) Fye and Ryne Fye; and a great nephew, Dawson Fye. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; a cousin, Scott Henry; and four uncles: Francis Fye and Charles Henry, William Bill Swails, and William Alley.

As was Tracy’s wish, his body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. The Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
