Thousands Turn Out For Concert In The Park
Oskaloosa, Iowa – For the second year in a row, thousands of people turned out to listen to local praise and worship bands and, this year, special guest Aaron Shust.
Andy Baker, with Central Reformed Church, and one of the coordinators of the event, spoke with Oskaloosa News about the massive response to the day.
The sunburnt Baker said that “we’re so pumped up. We’ve got several thousand people here for this amazing day”.
“Look around”, said Baker. “This is Oskaloosa. How awesome is this. It’s kind of the dream we’ve had as a community that we could have world class events right here on our square”.
“This is Osky coming together to do something great” said Baker.
The spectacular weather helped the event to a successful second year, and “praise God” said Baker, who says he don’t normally pray about the weather.
When it comes to hosting the event for a 3rd year, Baker isn’t sure at this point. “I don’t like annual events, but we’ll see. We’ll see what God has in mind”.
Concerts, kids’ games, food trucks and much more, filled the afternoon and early evening for visitors from as far away as Missouri.
