Orielle Thomas will enter Wednesday’s game just five points shy of the 1,000-point mark

Oskaloosa–Orielle Thomas (Sr., Waynesville, Mo., Physical Education) utilized a pair of 20-point showings to earn yet another Midwest Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor Monday.

The senior, who has captured five awards this winter (six in her career), guided William Penn (17-8, 8-2 MCC) to a pair of victories to remain tied with Grand View at the top of the MCC.

Thomas averaged a double-double of 21.0 points and 13.0 rebounds, including a 21-point, 15-rebound outing against AIB. She also managed 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in addition to a 62.5% shooting clip. The forward enters this week just five points shy of the 1,000-point mark for her career.

Thomas leads the MCC in rebounding and is in the top ten in six other categories as well.

For the year, Thomas continues to tally a double-double of 13.8 points and 11.9 rebounds (12 double-doubles). She is shooting 48.9% overall in addition to 41 assists, 36 steals, and 11 blocks.

Thomas has earned all five weekly awards for the Lady Statesmen program.
