February, 27, 2013 – The Iowa Barnstormers will return to the William Penn University campus March 2–16 to conduct their spring training camp. The public is invited to attend a Meet and Greet at the Penn Central Mall this Sunday, March 3 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Players and cheerleaders will begin signing autographs at 5:45 p.m. Barnstormer merchandise will be available for purchase and attendees will have the chance to enter their names into the prize drawings.

Other community events have been scheduled during their two-week stay in Oskaloosa, including a building project in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity on March 12 from 4:00–6:00 pm. Community members are invited to partner with the Iowa Barnstormers for some building fun, followed by a spaghetti dinner at the Central United Methodist Church. For more information, contact Valinn McReynolds at 641-295-5805 or by email at director@mahaskahfh.org, or visit the Habitat for Humanity Facebook page at facebook.com/MahaskaCountyHabitatforHumanity.

The Iowa Barnstormers will also attend an event at the Peppertree on Thursday, March 14 which the public is invited to attend. More details to follow.

The Iowa Barnstormers are a part of the Arena Football League, which features all the elements of outdoor football, but games are played on a smaller, indoor field. This results in a faster-paced, higher-scoring game. The team coming to campus consists of 35 men from all over the nation, plus support staff and coaches for a total of nearly 45 visitors.

William Penn University is thrilled to once again host the Iowa Barnstormers for their spring training camp. For information about all scheduled activities during their two-week stay, contact Barnstormer General Manager, John Pettit at 515-633-2255.
