Terry A. McMillian, 62, of Rose Hill died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Mahaska Health Partnership E.R. in Oskaloosa.

Terry was born Saturday, January 6, 1951 in Oskaloosa the son of Gentry and Rosemary Evans McMillian. Terry graduated from the Oskaloosa Senior High with the class of 1969. Following graduation he attended a tech school in Milwaukee to study drafting. On December 31, 1987, Terry was united in marriage to Caryn A. Boyles in Oskaloosa and she died September 13, 2003. Terry worked various manufacturing jobs including Clow Valve and Pella Corp. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, astrology, computers, music, math, games and family get-togethers. He also enjoyed reading and was always trying to learn new things. Terry’s kids and grandkids were his number one priority and the center of his life.

His family includes his daughters: Channa McMillian of Oskaloosa, Crystal (& Robert) Wells of Rose Hill, and Teresa Day of Oskaloosa; two grandchildren: Tommy McDonald and IvyAnn Patton and another grandchild on the way; two sisters: Ellen (& Howard) Thompson of Oskaloosa and Rita Voss; a brother: Charlie (& Bert) McMillian of New Sharon; a sister-in-law: Jamie Vos of Monroe, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a mother-in-law: Joni Luzadder; and two brothers-in-law: Dale Voss and Nick Vos.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend Charlie McMillian officiating.
As was his wish his body will be cremated following the service and burial of the cremated remains will be in the Beacon Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will begin Friday after 2 P.M. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be present at the funeral chapel Friday from 5 – 7 P.M. to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
