Statesmen Seventh in Third Ranking
Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s volleyball team dropped a bit as the NAIA released its third top-15 poll Wednesday.
WPU (12-2, 6-1 Heart), which went 4-1 during the last polling stretch, fell two slots to #7 with 208 points. The navy and gold have now been ranked for 16 consecutive ratings.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference once again has six ranked programs, led by Park at #3. Grand View is also just ahead of WPU at #5, while Mount Mercy is #10 and Missouri Valley is #12. Missouri Baptist is also in the receiving votes section at #16 unofficially.
With its win over the previous #1, Vanguard (Calif.) is now first in the NAIA with 296 points and all 16 first-place votes. The Master’s (Calif.) is #2, while Ottawa (Ariz.) is #4 to round out the top five.
William Penn travels to Des Moines Friday to face Grand View in Heart play at 7 p.m.
